Coach McDonnell has been coaching football for 10 years between high school and college. In 2022, Coach McDonnell led Kettle Moraine to the Division 2 State Championship. In 2023, Coach McDonnell guided Kettle Moraine to an undefeated conference championship in the Classic 8 Conference as he earned Coach of the Year honors for the second year in a row. Coach McDonnell's 2021 team at Kettle Moraine advanced to the State Semi-Final game. Coach McDonnell's coaching stops also include Florida, Mississippi, and Ohio. Coach McDonnell will continue the commitment from the high school with the Dawgs Organization.

The Cedarburg Dawgs program is committed to excellence through a demonstrated effort of fostering character, athleticism, and intelligence to all program players equally in an atmosphere rich with positive experiences on the gridiron and in their lives.
